About Us
The hearts behind the healing
SHINE Collective provides support, resources, and education to survivors of psychedelic harm and abuse and their communities.
We support survivors as they navigate their healing process through screenings, community referrals, & education.
Through consultation, education, & advocacy, we raise awareness around potential risks, harms, and guidelines to improve the overall safety of psychedelics.
Mission
To connect survivors of abuse within psychedelic communities with resources, education, and guidance.
To deliver education and consultation to individuals, communities, and organizations on ethical care, restorative justice, and human rights in non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSC).
Vision
We envision a world where people can access healing through non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSC) with safety, dignity and respect.
For those who have experienced harm through coercion, manipulation or abuse; we aim to provide a forum where survivors and their loved ones can come together and learn, share, and grow.
Our story
As psychedelic use increases, the potential for both healing and harm increases. Psychedelics have incredible potential for treating depression, anxiety, and trauma - as well as helping us understand human consciousness, reconnecting us with the planet, and connecting us with sacred and spiritual practices. The use of psychedelics also places individuals in vulnerable states that can make them vulnerable to abuse.
People who seek healing through psychedelic medicine paths deserve dignity and respect. A space to reconnect to themselves, a place to heal, free of harm through abuse, assault, coercion or manipulation.
SHINE Collective was born out of the vital community need for supporting those who have been harmed in psychedelic spaces.
As more miraculous stories of psychedelic healing are told on podcasts, in magazines, and at conferences, we also hear of stories of abuse and misconduct that demand to be shared so lessons can be learned:
Survivors of sexual assault from psychedelic practitioners that deserve to be heard.
Loved ones dying from psychedelic-related accidents that deserve to be heard.
Practitioners who are raising genuine concerns about ethics, coercion, suggestibility and psychedelics that deserve to be heard.
As more survivors begin to come forward and share their stories, the more need there is for compassionate support systems that understand the complexities of psychedelic harm.
Thankfully, we are not doing this work alone.
We are proud to collaborate with incredible partners who share our vision for safer, more compassionate healing spaces. Together, we are amplifying impact and driving meaningful change in the communities we serve.
