We are researchers, ethicists, community advocates, practitioners, and survivors.
We are realists who believe in the immense potential healing of psychedelics and know that there is vital need to create support systems for those who are harmed.
We are a shining light into the shadows of psychedelic spaces.

We envision a world where people can access healing through non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSC) with safety, dignity and respect, free from the threat of harm through coercion, manipulation or abuse.
For those who have experienced harm, we aim to provide a forum where survivors can come together and learn, share, and grow.

We provide support, resources, and education to survivors of abuse within psychedelic communities.
We provide education and consultation to individuals, communities and organizations around ethical care, restorative justice and human rights in non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSC).

Psychedelic harm is a unique and complex type of trauma that occurs when someone is abused, assaulted, coerced or manipulated while in an altered state of consciousness, usually through the use of psychedelic substances. This can include emotional, sexual, physical, psychological and financial aspects of abuse and assault.
Additionally, psychedelic harm encompasses the very real community denialism, silencing of survivor voices, bullying and threats made against survivors of harm.

No. SHINE does not offer psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. We are a non-profit organization that provides education, training, resources for survivors and peer-support groups.

SHINE provides support for individuals who have been harmed, their families and community members. We also support practitioners and organizations who are looking for support around ethical care.

We offer small, confvidential, trauma/survivor-informed, monthly virtual groups to a variety of specific groups including; sexual assault survivors, friends & family, and community survivors.
To protect survivors’ privacy concerns, all of our groups are closed to the public and require pre-screening and intake with the SHINE support staff.

SHINE Collective is open to feedback from the community and we do regular evaluations of our staff and board to address any community concerns, facilitate mediation and engage in healthy discourse.
We are currently pursing systems for safe, anonymous feedback to further protect survivors.
